It also proposed that: “The federal government shall exercise ‘eminent domain’ over any and all recovered technologies of unknown origin and biological evidence of non-human intelligence that may be controlled by private persons or entities in the interest of the public good.” The act would have empowered the panel to hold more hearings, with witnesses afforded immunity from prosecution. Their job was to decide – free of military, political or corporate influence – when and how to disclose information from the archive. The original text of the UAP Disclosure Act was similar in that it proposed the creation of a national archive, overseen by an independent panel of nine US citizens. Declassification of UAP records will be largely up to the same entities that have blocked their disclosure for decades Chuck Schumer The process was overseen by an independent body. Frustrated with the growing public perception that agents of the US government had conspired with the military to assassinate the president – a belief that found its way into the mainstream through Oliver Stone’s 1991 movie JFK – the act established a national archive of all records relating to the assassination, and declassified the vast majority of them. The legislation was modelled on the President John F Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992. The Disclosure Act was meant to restore public trust and assure Congress that secret projects were not taking place beyond its oversight. As Republican congressman Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin explained in his opening remarks on 26 July: “The lack of transparency regarding UAPs has fuelled wild speculation and debate for decades, eroding public trust in the very institutions that are meant to serve and protect them.” When it comes to governments, the primary issue is trust. View image in fullscreen Footage from a US navy plane of an apparent interaction with a UAP, made public in April 2020. Their testimonies resulted in the new Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Disclosure Act, authored by a bipartisan group of five elected representatives, led by Democrat majority leader Chuck Schumer and Republican senator Mike Rounds. The claims led to a congressional hearing, in which Grusch and others described what they had gleaned of this super-secret project, or seen with their own eyes during military service. Interest in unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), the new term for UFOs, reignited in June 2023 when ex-US intelligence agency whistleblower David Grusch told the Debrief website that during his official duties he had discovered the US had indeed been retrieving spacecraft of non-human origin for decades. At the end of last year, a US government bill that would have mandated the controlled release of all classified documents and artefacts relating to UFOs was significantly watered down at the last minute so that it would get through Congress. If you thought that we were about to finally get the truth about UFOs, think again. The crossword grid is the foundation of your puzzle. Check out the specific requirements for your state or territory below: In Australia, if you have a portable or inflatable pool that can be filled to a depth of 30cm and is used by people, you need to install a pool fence. Other water sources such as irrigation channels and fishponds, where people don't swim, don't share the same regulations.īut pool-fencing regulations do vary according to where you live. A correctly installed and appropriately maintained pool fence is the next line of defence working to keep your child safe from drowning." Do inflatable pools need a pool fence? "Supervision is critical to prevent drowning but, unfortunately, supervision can and does fail. "We also know that for every drowning death in this age group, another eight children are admitted to hospital following a non-fatal drowning and tragically, some of these children will suffer lifelong health complications," she says. In almost all of these deaths, either the supervising adult was temporarily absent, or there had been no supervising adult in the first place. "Between 1 July 2002 and 30 June 2021, 532 children aged nought to four years died from drowning in Australia and swimming pools are the leading location for drowning in this age group, accounting for more than half of all deaths (52%)." "As well as supervising children in the inflatable pool at all times, you'll also need to abide by strict pool fencing laws – or be slugged with hefty fines"Īccording to Mahony, an accidental fall into the water is the leading activity before drowning (77%). "Young children are the age group at highest risk of drowning," says Alison Mahony, national manager of research and policy at Royal Life Saving Society Australia (RLSSA). Key safety factorsĪs well as supervising children in the inflatable pool at all times, you'll also need to abide by strict pool fencing laws – or be slugged with hefty fines.īut these laws are strict for a very good reason. This is one of the most powerful potions on our list of the best Minecraft potions you can brew. Ingredients – Turtle Shell, awkward potion, and blaze powder.Effect – Makes player immune to most attacks but also reduces movement speed. On Bedrock edition though, you cannot fish up the pufferfish in the variants of jungle biomes. Moreover, you can go fishing anywhere in your world and you’ll have a chance to catch pufferfish. You can kill the fish before it attacks again, even with a wooden sword. Though you don’t need to worry, as the damaging effects are temporary. You can find them easily in warm ocean biomes, but attacking them might lead them to release poison. The main ingredient to make a Potion of Water Breathing is Pufferfish. But you can always increase its duration by adding a Redstone to it. Additionally, you can even see better under lava while using this potion.ĭo keep in mind that it’s a temporary potion. But you can manage to stay safe from them if you keep your distance or stay in cover. You will still get damage from the ghast fireballs and blaze melee attacks. Using it provides immunity from regular fire, lava, magma blocks, fire charges, and even blaze fireballs. This potion is really useful in the nether realm, which is home to fire-based damage environments. Ingredients – Magma cream, awkward potion, and blaze powder.Effect – Makes player resistant from most fire-based damage.Do keep in mind that using glowstone dust reduces the effects’ duration, so you will have to deal with the enemy faster. If you have to combat with higher-level mobs, increase the potion’s strength with glowstone dust. But this potion is beneficial for low-level fights against creepers and spiders. You will still need your swords and other tools to survive. Since it’s comparatively easier to create, players use them while creating builds or exploring woods at night without building a Minecraft bed. This potion doesn’t stop the hostile mobs from spawning though. Well, at least as long as the potion lasts. That means you can go mining underground or in the Minecraft 1.18 dripstone caves without worrying about torches. The best benefit it provides is the ability to see underground. Though, that is not the only reason players use this potion for. It is advantageous while tackling mobs during the night. As the name suggests, it gives you the ability to see in the darkness. Stepping away from just combats for a while, we have the night vision potion. Ingredients – Golden Carrot, awkward potion, and blaze powder.Eff ect – Allows players to see clearly in dark areas. You can level up or enhance the damage by adding glowstone dust to the potion using the Brewing stand. For the Bedrock edition, this seems to only work with level 2 of these potions. Among these, it is easier to make a Potion of Poison in Minecraft. For example, pushing a minecart into a furnace minecart and then powering the furnace gives a weaker shunt than pushing the furnace minecart into the other minecart against a wall, and then powering the furnace in the other direction. You can brew the Potion of Harming by adding a fermented spider eye to a Potion of Healing or the Potion of Poison. These shunts are fragile at best and easily come undone, but some methods are stronger than others. Trains are formed when a minecart is pushed into the back of a powered furnace minecart or a short-enough train. All minecarts in this train move at the constant speed of the furnace minecart. ]|alt=]]Ī furnace minecart can be made to pull up to four other minecarts. The sloped rail must be replaced with a horizontal rail before powering. |caption=Creating a strongly-shunted 1-cart train. |caption=weakly-shunted 1-cart train, one cart was used only to push the train together and is left behind Because of this speed difference, some of the minecarts may end up inside unloaded chunks on straight tracks. The furnace minecart continues on with its own speed. When a minecart with furnace bumps into another minecart or multiple minecarts, the other minecarts are pushed forward with great speed. If a minecart with furnace reaches a slope while pulling another minecart, the pulled minecart is switched to the forward position so that it can be pushed along the slope instead of pulled. Minecarts with furnaces can climb up steep inclines while pushing other minecarts as long as they have fuel. In other words, tone refers to any hue that has been modified with the addition of grey-as long as the grey is purely neutral (only containing white and black). Tone is the result of a color that has had both white and black added to it. The opposite of shade, tint refers to how much white is added to a color. Shade refers to how much black is added into the hue. Any one of the six primary and secondary colors is a hue. In that respect, hue can be interpreted as the origin of a color. Hue refers to the pure pigment of a color, without tint or shade. Let’s dive into these color variants a little deeper: Hue By visualizing how each color relates to the color that comes next to it on a rainbow color scale, the color wheel helps designers to create bespoke color palettes that promote aesthetic harmony. The color wheel doesn’t just chart each primary, secondary, and tertiary color-it also charts their respective hues, tints, tones, and shades. You might be thinking, “there are way more than 12 colors out there.” You’re right-and they can all be found on a more advanced version of the color wheel. The tertiary colors are magenta, vermillion, violet, teal, amber, and chartreuse. Tertiary colors are created by mixing a primary color with a secondary color. The secondary colors are orange, purple, and green-in other words, colors that can be created by combining any two of the three primary colors. The primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. Primary colors are colors you can’t create by combining two or more other colors.Let’s have a quick refresh on what these color categories entail: If you remember learning about these in art class, well done-you’ve already grasped the basics of color theory! The basic color wheel displays three categories of color primary colors, secondary colors, and tertiary colors. Modern color theory is largely based on Isaac Newton’s color wheel, which he created all the way back in 1666. Let’s start at the basics: what actually is color theory?Ĭolor theory is a framework that informs the use of color in art and design, guides the curation of color palettes, and facilitates the effective communication of a design message on both an aesthetic and a psychological level. Olga explains what you need to consider when choosing a color palette, things to avoid, and top tips for picking the right color scheme: The best online tools for choosing a color paletteīefore we jump in, check out this video presented by CareerFoundry UI design mentor, Olga. What are the different types of color palettes?.In this guide, we’ll take you through everything you need to know about color theory-from mastering the fundamentals of color variants right through to choosing the right color palette for your user interface. While it might seem like a website’s color palette is a matter of the client’s personal taste, in reality, UI designers rely on a framework called color theory: a multilayered set of guidelines that informs the use of color in design. User interface (UI) designers have the challenging task of incorporating color into their interface in a way that poignantly communicates a brand’s visual identity. Research conducted by the Institute for Color Research reveals that people make a subconscious judgment about a product within 90 seconds of seeing it, and between 62% and 90% of that assessment is based on color alone. Have you ever seen a color that has immediately reminded you of a particular brand? Maybe you’ve struggled to feel relaxed in a room that has a clashing color scheme, or returned an item of clothing you got as a gift because the color wasn’t quite right.Ĭolors have the immeasurable power to inform our mood, emotions, and thoughts.
